Just 3 Days Left…
June 27, 2007 by TJM Admin · Leave a Comment
Just a quick update for those of you that have an interest in AAUPC. Yes, there are only 3 days left till launch, and everything appears to be running right on schedule. We will be offering fellow atheists and agnostics a place to host their blogs, participate in forums, chat with one another… In short, a LOT is planned and thank you for waiting so patiently while everything gets geared up!
I know that I am really looking forward to the next couple of months as AAUPC continues to evolve with your input. What would you like to see there? What kind of features would you like to see implemented? Leave your comments!

Those Angry Atheists…

Most of the emails that I receive regarding this site usually start off with the old familiar phrase, “Why are you atheists so angry at God?” God, I love those questions! Read more
Interview Questions Needed
June 17, 2007 by HannahW · 3 Comments
Next week I’m going away to camp for a month so I may not be posting.
But I am considering interviewing the local Catholic priest, who I know rather well, and I am looking for questions to ask. Please resist the urge to present overly confrontational or disrespectful questions. Actually…go ahead send me those too, I’ll rephrase them but I’ll do my best to ask them.
Post them in the comment section or email them to me at denim_dolly24@yahoo.com .
He Died For My Sins…….So What? (Rant of A Fallen Catholic School Girl)
June 16, 2007 by HannahW · 9 Comments
When I was in the 7th and 8th grade (Louisiana Jr. High) I attended a Catholic school where a religion course was required to pass. I frequently tormented the teachers with questions they couldn’t answer, facts they didn’t know and defending the devil….you know harmless mischief. Now most of this was done in a time when I was genuinely questioning. I was not trying to cause trouble (at first) I just wanted to have it explained to me by someone who was supposed to know. I did get quite a few answers . Read more
Atheists: Coming Out of the Non-Existant Closet
June 15, 2007 by HannahW · 10 Comments
(I had a bit of trouble with the name of this one. I’m not happy with it and will probably come back and change it. Any suggestions?)
I recently told my mother I was an atheist. We had lunch at an Italian restaurant and the conversation turned to religion. We were talking about a debate between believers and atheists that I had seen recently. It was Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort representing God (I’d get new reps) vs. Bryan and Kelly from Rational Responders and the Blasphemy challenge. Somehow the conversation went from there to my mom saying to me, “But you can’t just believe in nothing!” I simply responded with “Yes I can.” Read more

The next phase of AAUPC (Atheists and Agnostics United to Promote Change) is taking shape and the details are being fleshed out as I type. Think of it as a “mySpace” for atheists and agnostics. You will have the ability to browse blogs by state and create a blog of your own on AAUPC. Read more

Pray for gas prices…
June 8, 2007 by Recovering Catholic · 2 Comments
The site is sctimes.com. The newspaper is out of St. Cloud, MN and the article is in the Opinion section of today’s paper. The article is called “What Should Christians Do About High Gas Prices?” I thought is was a joke. Nope. This man goes into detail and gives examples of what Christians should do, and then, at the end of the example, gives a Bible quote to support it! Now, for those of you who were interested enough to look at the website as well as read this, you will see this man’s six points. I think my favorite ones are #1 and #6. #1 states: Remember-God is your supplier. Yhea, tell that to your boss when you don’t have enough gas to get to work because it costs so much. #6 simply states “Pray”. We are supposed to pray for the people making the decisions about the prices and production. This is yet another one of my pet peeves about the Christian belief system: give it all up to God. Pray about it and let Him deal with it. That way you don’t have to do anything for yourself and make your own decisions. We have brains, let’s use them!
