Placing the Blame
May 21, 2007
You have heard stories like this before. Christian Scientist’s children dieing from curable or treatable ailments simply because it is “against their religion” to take their child to a physician. A woman drowns her children in the tub because “God told her to.” (I am going to warn you right now that I am going to violate our COC because this just hits close to home.)
Now for the latest news story. In case you haven’t heard, this asshole to the left, Joshua Mauldin, placed his 2 month old daughter in a motel microwave and turned it on. For 10 to 20 seconds. Why do you think he did it? According to police, Joshua told them that he did it out of stress. I bet you can guess, if you do not already know, why his wife said he did it. Eva Mauldin reportedly told reporters of a local Houston TV station, KHOU-TV, that “Satan saw my husband as a threat…Satan attacked him because he saw (Joshua) as a threat.” Why would Satan see him as a threat? She says that Satan disapproved of Joshua Mauldin’s goal and efforts to become a religious preacher. Of course, as you might expect, She is also claiming that he has an “undisclosed mental disability.”
Religious zealots, listen up. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN DAMN ACTIONS! Stop blaming “the devil” or “God” for the disgusting, vile and inhumane acts that you commit! Like you, Ted Haggard! The devil did not make you take meth or sleep with a man!(I am not insinuating that being “gay” is disgusting, vile or inhumane. Simply pointing out the fact that HE also used the blame game to gain a sympathetic ear amongst his “flock.” for those of you that would like to know my stance on homosexuality, please refer to my earlier post located here.) YOU did it because YOU decided to! To Mrs. Mauldin: Your HUSBAND did it, not Satan. And you deserve to be right next to him in prison. And Joshua, I hope you get ALL 99 years behind bars, which is the maximum jail time sentence possible. (I understand that other offenders in jail do not look favorable on child abuse offenders. I am SURE that you will have PLENTY of time on your knees to pray to your god.)
Ana Marie, the victim in this horrific story, remains hospitalized and in stable condition. She suffered severe burns on the left side of her body, including her hand and her face. The little girl was also lucky to not have brain damage caused by the microwaves emitted when it was on.

Got something to say?

At least the man himself didn’t try blaming his actions on anyone else. Of course, ‘I was under stress’ is a pretty retarded reason to try microwave-broiling your own child, but hey, everybody thinks everything’s ok anyway. This world isn’t the real one, so we can do whatever as long as we apologize REAL hard to God at the end of it all. Damnit, this kind of thing is difficult to absorb quietly. Why do we let these wackos run free? Why do these fools get voted into our legislature? How do these people LIVE long enough to give us all problems with their sickness?!?! I’m glad that the Texan jury indicted him of the minor, petty crimes they did, but this deserves far worse. All we can hope is that poor little Ana Marie doesn’t end up forced to go home with these ‘parents’ by another court.
Amen to that, Ron. Thanks for the thoughts.
Oh god…..I heard about this.
That kid is going to be sooooo screwed up its not even funny.
And I totally agree with you on this.
