Seven Kids, No Heat, No Water, In Foreclosure…It’s God’s Will Though

February 16, 2008

Before you jump to conclusions, let me just say this; I do not usually watch Dr. Phil. In fact, today’s program is the first one that I have ever seen. A friend of mine called me to let me know what the subject matter was so I recorded it for later viewing. Sure glad that I did…well, maybe not.

DanMeet Dan. Dan is a lazy bastard who uses religion as an excuse for not working. You see, God, as he says, is directing his path. Dan has a wife and seven (yes, 7) children who’s ages ranges from 3weeks old to 14 years. Dan’s home has no running water and no gas for heat or cooking. Dan has started up and ran into the ground several business ventures. Dan is a complete pud in my book and a horrible husband and father.

“The water’s been shut off. The gas has been shut off, and this house is in foreclosure because I don’t have a job,” Dan says.  “People who know me call me a workaholic,” Dan says. “I prefer to work for myself. Working for someone else is the easy way out. You just show up to work, and whether you’re picking your nose or writing something down, you’re getting paid. In every business that I started, any job that I applied for, the Lord was leading my path. In 1988, I started up an acrylics shop. In 2001, I declared bankruptcy. We moved to Hawaii to collect tropical fish. Then I started working with my father-in-law in Georgia. He fired me. In 2006, I sent out three resumés and called 10 pet shops, but didn’t get a response. Most recently, I’ve come across a red light photo blocker. You can spray it onto your license plate, and if you accidentally went through a red light, it would overexpose the film, and they can’t send you a ticket. I thought I was led by the Lord to do this business, but so far I’ve only sold two cans.”

He declared bankruptcy, had no job and decides to move his family to Hawaii, one of the most expensive places to live in the U.S., to collect fish? Bet you his wife will have none of this. I bet you she is just fed up with him not providing for the family.

The FamilyDan’s wife of 15 years, Janna, says, “We have seven children: Destinee, she’s 14, Jedidiah is 13, Tehillah is 11, Jubilee is 9, Jericho is 7, Merci is 4, and Zakira is one week. Dan and I both have college degrees. Mine is in communications. His is in business administration. For the most part, I stand by my husband 100 percent,” Janna says. “We’ve been sustained thus far, and I know he feels that he doesn’t feel led to open another business at this point of time. He is looking for work.”

Sustained thus far? Your children can’t even flush the damn toilet after taking a crap without dumping collected rain water down it! You are 5 months behind in your mortgage and about to be shown the door in two weeks!

Why won’t this guy get a job?

Dr. Phil asks Dan, “You say you can do this using your resources, but why do it using your resources? Why not just get a job and provide for your family?”

“I don’t think it’s as simple as that,” Dan says. “I am not unwilling to go get a job, and in fact, when I have put out resumés to get a job — there was one time that I did — but mostly it seems like I’m led in a different direction, so then I’ve taken that as a leading of the Lord in what I should do. I’m taking steps, and he is directing my path.”

“He is directing you away from getting a job to provide for your family?” Dr. Phil asks.

“The Bible says that he puts the desire in your heart and then brings it to fulfillment,” Dan says.

Well, give him credit. There was one time that he did put out resumes…

Look, I am just gonna say it. This guy is a nutbag. Janna’s parents have sent them over $50,000 to help out their grandkids. There is no way that this guy actually loves his kids. Give me a break, I would NEVER allow my wife and daughter to live in such conditions. I don’t care if I have to work 3 full time jobs, my daughter is not going to have to go somewhere else to shower and pour collected rainwater down the toilet to flush it. Where the hell are social services when you need them?

This is what really pisses me off. This guy is a lazy assed poor excuse of a husband and father, but it’s okay because this is how God is directing him to lead his life. (So he says.) (Oh, and God also lead him to get involved with the sale and distribution of Red Light Photo Blocker. A clear paint of some kind that supposedly over exposes the film of a speed trap camera or a red light camera so you don’t get caught. Nice, huh?)

And talk about poor decision making skills! Why the fuck do you keep having kids??? Janna’s response? “I just have a hard time saying ‘no’ to life.” WTF?

Dan, I hope that one day you come across this site. I hope that you read this post. You are a worthless piece of human garbage. You are a lazy asshole that allows your children to live in squalor. You make horrible decisions. (By the way, God isn’t leading you to be a Pro Golfer. You’re 43 and haven’t played a round since 2000.) You are a dumb ass and you should have your children taken away from you until you are able to provide properly for them. Janna, you’re just as bad for not getting off your back and getting a job. Both of you need to stop using religion as an excuse for your idiocy.

I hate it when someone uses their religion as an excuse to be stupid or delusional. Religion makes it all acceptable?

Dan and Janna should be arrested for neglect and abuse. Both the parents are delusional in their belief that they are doing god’s will. The children should be removed before god tell the parents to kill all of them in order to save him. There is something cultish going on.

I have not seen such a nutcase in my life. There is something missing behind his eyes, he looked as if he could be drugged or retarded, His wife, like a teenager, is so “in love” or indoctrinated by the guy that she believes every word he says is the gospel truth.

They keep popping children out without ANY means to support the kids. They are totally out of touch with reality. God is not looking after him; his in laws gave them more than $50,000 - not god.

This crazy, lazy excuse for a human being is using religion as an excuse not to work. This man’s inability to live in the real world has caused him to use religion as a basis to manage his mental problems.

There are some people who utilize religion as a tool to manage their psychoses. Son of Sam was one, who insisted his “dog” was the devil, telling him to murder people.

The kids in the family are definitely at risk. He may not be violent now, but there is always that propensity behind the “shield” of religion.

“I just have a hard time saying ‘no’ to life.”

Laughing my ass of at this one. But I guess if you don’t have a TV all that’s left is sex…

Geez, my heart goes out to those kids. Let’s hope social services pick up on this and make sure the kids find a good home away from their parents. :(

My brother-in-law pulls the same crap without blaming God. There are idiots in every group. That he’s putting the responsibility on God proves nothing.

Come on TJM!!! This can’t be real!!! Is it?!?! No one’s that BIG OF A DOUCHE!!!

How much of a putz can a man be where his own father-in-law risks the safety and welfare of his child and grandchildren by firing their husband and father? (And this is coming from someone who has actually hired their relatives before, so I know from whence I speak). This guy has to be the lamest asshole in the world. I can only guess that his father-in-law hoped that once having ditched this skinjob, his daughter would grab the kids and come back home.

Religion is the ultimate cop-out. Prisoners use it to blame the devil for their handiwork and then use it again to get out of prison so they don’t have to pay for their crimes. So much for contrition. This jerk uses it to cover his total inadequacy as a human being. He claims he was “led by the Lord” to help people who run red lights avoid traffic tickets. So what happens if they run the light and kill someone? They get off scott-free since the cops can’t find who did it? I suppose it just gets chalked up as another one of those “moves in mysterious ways” manuevers of old Yahweh.

Most religionists use this kind of cop-out because they’re scared shitless of fire. From big jerks (like this one), to the smalest of ninnies who’ll believe anything, one-size god fits all problems. “Explain it away and give that crap to god. Let him deal with it.” But this guy has broken new ground in the Garden of Idiots.

I’ll bet he goes around from church to church putting on the beg with his kids in tow. And the one’s who fall for his line deserve him.

Poetic justice if I ever saw it……. :-|

Got something to say?
